Watch Battery Month: Supporting Children’s Cancer Research Fund

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and we’re proud to be partnering with Children’s Cancer Research Fund for a fifth year. Every dollar from watch battery sales during the month of September will be donated to Children’s Cancer Research Fund. They invest in bold and new ideas to revolutionize the way childhood cancer is treated.

Watch batteries have helped fund important research on more effective treatments for leukemia and brain tumors, the two most common childhood cancers.

Why Children’s Cancer Research Fund?

In 2018, we knew we wanted to partner with a local charity because there are so many incredible non-profit organizations in the Twin Cities. After discussing what kind of charity we would support, we realized that many people are impacted by or know someone whose life has been changed by childhood cancer. Children’s Cancer Research Fund’s main focus is to support the research of bright scientists across the country whose ideas can make the greatest impact for children fighting cancer. They also fund resources and programs that help families who are fighting cancer stay strong, find community, and take care of themselves.

Children’s Cancer Research Fund Amplifies the Power of a Dollar

Every donation to Children’s Cancer Research Fund supports the early stages of childhood cancer research and fills in gaps along the way, when funding from federal or other sources just isn’t available. Your donation helps jumpstart new ideas and makes better treatments and cures possible. Every dollar donated leads to an average of $18 in additional funding.

46 children are diagnosed with cancer every day in the U.S. By spreading the word and funding research, we CAN make treatments better and safer for kids fighting cancer.

Cancer remains the most common cause of death by disease among children in the United States.

1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive, and for the ones who do, the battle is never over.

By the age of 50, more than 99% of survivors have had a chronic health problem caused by the toxicity of the treatment that initially saved their life, including brain damage, loss of hearing and sight, heart disease, secondary cancers, learning disabilities, infertility and more.

Kids fighting cancer deserve better, safer treatments – and this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, R.F. Moeller is partnering with Children’s Cancer Research Fund to make those treatments possible.
